Using BAT R/T-M with Modbus RTU Protocol
We have created 3 Excel Files that can be used in conjunction with KEPServerEX to communicate via ModBus RTU Protocol & OPC with the BAT RTM and DDE to Communicate with Microsoft Excel.
For Testing purposes, a copy of KEPServer EX can be downloaded HERE. Install it on your computer and select ModBus Serial Driver. This will allow you to test at one (1) hour intervals.
About the Files:
1.) ModBus_BATRTM.xls - This Spread Sheet collects data for the BAT TRM Ratemete/Totalizer as well as the Data Logger.
Allows you to change the Meter Factor, Set-up the Linearization Table, Reset the Totalizer, Reset the Data Logger and Set the Reading time for the Data Logger. You can also transfer data to another Spread Sheet without disrupting the integrity of the sheet collecting the data.
2.) 2_BATRTM.xls - This Spread Sheet is similar to the first except it is collecting data for two (2) BAT RTM’s at the same time.
3.) BAT_RT_M.opf & 2-BAT_RT_M.opf - These files are the KEPServerEX files that are used in conjunction with the two (2) Spread Sheets listed above. These files reside in the Programs Folder under KEPServerEX (C:\Program Files\KEPServerEX\Projects\BAT_RT_M.opf).
When Opening the Excel Spread Sheet:
1.) If you just want to look at the Spread sheet and view Data that was previously collected:
A.) Enable Macros
B.) Keep Existing Information - Click NO.
2.) If you are connected to the BAT RTM, have KepServerEX running and want to update all Linked information - Click Yes.
If you want to connect this system to your Personal Computer, you will need an RS-232 to RS-485 Converter. Our CA-285 works very well for this application.
